We've taken the liberty of copying the following recommendations from other websites.

December 2007 Amanda says:
we love this place. very friendly & they always remember my daughter's name when we go in.
my daughter loves the free lollipop when she leaves (even though she hates leaving!). we had her party there this year and we'll be doing it again next year as it was such a success!
a huge thumbs up from us!
happy hours is nothing to do with the other nearby play area called happy dayz (despite the similar name!) which i've heard lots of negative comments about from neighbours who've been there.

October 2007 Dyan says:
Been to Happy Hours many times, went today again, it's a lovely place for my 21mnth old son to play in. Has a warm and friendly atmosphere, is nice and small so no searching everywhere for your child.  Sells food and drinks for yourself and children at very reasonable prices. They need more people going so get yourself down there! You wont be disappointed.

June 2007 Fiona says:
FANTASTIC PLACE!!!!
Me and my two girls (and their friends) love this place. It's very clean and friendly and the equipment is in very good condition unlike some we've been to. We're even having a birthday party here this year. The great thing about the parties is that you can self cater or use the lovely catering and it's very reasonable - plus you get the WHOLE place to yourself as parties are held after hours (5:15pm to 6:45pm).
Another plus - there's no loud head banging music.
The pictures on the website are very realistic too - check out the site and even better check out the place. Your kids will love it...

March 2006 I see that you already have Happy Hours on your list of soft play areas but i wanted to let you know that they now have a website: www.happyhours.org.uk and it's £2 per hour. I've been there numerous times with my toddler and it's a really friendly family run play area. They also do snacks which is handy and well priced. It's not very big but that's what I like about it because I can always see what my daughter is doing - not like in some of the big play areas.

This final one was posted recently following the closure of Grandma's, another play area in the district:-

We went on Saturday (27th Oct 2007) to find the place (GRANDMA'S) in darkness and the closed signs on the doors. I had to ask in the shop next door about it who told me that it had closed down!  Thankfully Happy Hours, Queens Drive was open and able to accommodate me, two other adults and three children - plus feed and water us- at a very reasonable price!!

We are a smaller sized, family run, Children's Indoor Activity Centre.  We opened in 1996 and have a first class safety record, in no small part due to the meticulous planning and construction of our play area.

We comply fully with the recommendations outlined in:-

'Safety in Indoor Adventure Play Areas -A Code of Practice'

This is a joint publication by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, The Institute of Leisure & Amenity Management and The National Playing Fields Association.

These guidelines were agreed following some lengthy deliberations by a working group established by those parties, following major concerns over high numbers of avoidable accidents occurring in play areas in the 1990's.

Following the construction of the play area and prior to our opening, we selected, as the independent examiner to conduct our post installation inspection, the author of those guidelines, who had no hesitation in confirming that the play area complied with the guidance.

You may well not be aware, that not all such establishments follow the guidelines, as they are not mandatory, but merely a guide to 'good practice'.  If you are unsure about safety in a play area, then request sight of their post-installation inspection.

If they decline, then:- be wary!!!!!!!!!!

Our aim is to provide a safe and child-friendly environment for children between the ages of 9 months and 8 years, to play and more importantly learn some basic interpersonal skills, mixing with other children.  The use of such facilities also improves their self-confidence.

Big enough to Cope, Small enough to Care.

We are open for normal business between the hours indicated at the top of these pages mainly catering for the needs of younger children under 6 years of age.  The vast majority of children who frequent the play area are under school age and most find it so enjoyable that they return again and again.  However, we still have long-standing customers who return regularly until their 9th birthday.  We know that a few of them have even sneaked in after then.

We supply snacks & hot and cold drinks during opening hours.  A sample of our prices for refreshments are shown elsewhere on this site.  Please click on appropriate link to the left of the page.
